One of the important aspects of forest cultivation is also the correct representation of different tree species in forest stands. At Panství Bechyně, we are very diligent in this area and strive to maintain an optimal ratio between tree species that corresponds to the given ecological conditions. The composition of tree species in our forests is as follows: Norway spruce 50%, Scots pine 35%, English oak 5%, European beech 2%, European larch 2%, White fir 1%, and other species account for 5% of the composition.
All these activities are carried out with a focus on sustainable forest management to ensure not only short-term but also long-term needs for wood and other forest products. In addition, we at Panství Bechyně are also committed to protecting natural and landscape values, which is another important aspect of our forestry practices.
